Dyslexia is a result of an inherent mental gift or talent. People who develop dyslexia think in pictures rather than words; they usually have higher than normal intelligence; they are imaginative and creative; and they try to solve problems by looking at the whole picture, rather than working step-by-step. Why is dyslexia a gift?
Dyslexic people are visual, multi-dimensional thinkers. We are intuitive and highly creative, and excel at hands-on learning. Because we think in pictures, it is sometimes hard for us to understand letters, numbers, symbols, and written words.
